Job Description Job Description Pipefitter Pipe fitters responsible for lay out, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems that transport water, steam, chemicals, compressed air, and other fluids. They work from blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to ensure systems meet safety, code, and performance requirements. Ability to work day or night shifts. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and P&IDs to determine layout requirements. Select type and size of pipe, fittings, supports, and related materials according to specifications. Cut, bend, thread, and fabricate pipe using saws, cutters, torches, and threading machines. Weld, braze, solder, or fuse pipe sections to assemble piping systems. Install hangers, brackets, and supports to secure piping. Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and specialized testing equipment. Inspect, maintain, and repair existing piping systems, replacing worn or damaged components. Collaborate with electricians, plumbers, and other trades to coordinate installation. Follow all safety rules, codes, and company policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 8 years experience related to pipefitting, welding and/or oilfield experience Completion of a pipefitter apprenticeship or vocational training. Knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Skills & Competencies Strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Physical stamina and ability to work in varied environments. Attention to detail and strong safety awareness. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
