FTE: Varies based on assignment Retirement Eligibility: Eligibility based on semesterly assignment, for more information visit Position Overview The Department of Biological Sciences seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Assistant pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific laboratory courses available vary from semester to semester and openings to lead these labs develop on a periodic basis, depending upon department needs, sufficient student enrollment, and dean approval. Adjunct Assistants lead labs under the direction of an Instructional Lab Supervisor or faculty. Lab courses may include, but are not limited to, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Environmental Science, General Biology, Physical Anthropology & Human Evolution, Parasitology, Immunology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Animal Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Forensic (polarized light) Microscopy, and Forensic Molecular Biology. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 18 hours of advanced coursework in the Biological Sciences (or related area specific to the laboratory course). College-level laboratory instruction experience.* *Requirements may vary for specialty labs. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in the field of study specific to the laboratory course assignment such as Biology, Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Ecology, etc. One year of demonstrated college-level laboratory instruction experience. Required License/Registration/Certifications Physical Requirements Communicating with others to exchange information. Environmental Hazards No adverse environmental conditions expected.
